I am Lynn Brown, my husband and I live in Knox county, Ohio on a 5 acre mini-farm, just 10 minutes outside of Mount Vernon city limits.  Both my husband and I have been life-long lovers of cats.  My husband’s passion is his motorcycles, classic cars and hanging out with our cats and kittens.  My passion is genetics and selectively breeding my bloodline of beautiful and exceptionally sweet cats.   For the past 20 years, we have occasionally raised kittens once a year or every few years.  In 2017 we purchased our dream property, it’s now my dream to grow my breeding program and enjoy spending much more time with my cats and being outdoors on our farm (maybe some goats and chickens in our future?)  

My first cat was a rescue calico kitten that was my Christmas gift when I was just 3 years old, she was my baby for 15 sweet years, I considered her like a sister to me.  My dad raised and trained German Shepherds in Schutzhund (long before it was called IPO or IGP as it is now) and our next door neighbors raised AKC show line Siberian Huskies, they graciously allowed me to tag along at dog shows.  So, from an early age I was immersed in both working dog sports and the AKC dog show world.  In my teenage years I apprenticed with several professional AKC handlers and Master Groomers, I also volunteered weekly at a local private all-breed rescue and worked at a purebred rescue’s kennel.  For almost 5 years I was the kennel manager at a large breeding/show Labrador & Cavalier kennel owned by an AKC Judge & Veterinarian.  I have an A.S. in Vet Tech and I worked at the local animal shelter for 3+ years.  All of these gave me a great wealth of experience with selectively breeding and raising healthy pets with great temperaments.  

In the late 90’s/early 2000’s I was attending cat shows and visiting breeders.  I bought a CFA Grand Champion Persian (extreme flat faced ‘show’ type.)  Sadly, my personal experience was that the breed is plagued with too many health problems and quality-of-life issues because of their extreme faces and excessive coats, so I never bred Persians as I originally intended to.  I became involved with British breed of cat (both the shorthair and longhair varieties) because I felt they had less health issues than extreme show type Persians.  The British Cat shares it’s early history with the Persian, they share some of the same pedigrees 100+ years ago.  Different breeders focused on different physical traits which led to the creation of different breeds from the same ancestors.  The British Shorthair/Longhair is essentially a close cousin of the Persian.  All cat registries allow many other purebred breeds to use British cats in their breeding programs for genetic diversity, adorable cobby structure and excellent temperaments.  These include Scottish Fold, Selkirk Rex, Ragamuffins, etc, whom all have a strong British pedigree background.  

Just a note for potential kitten buyers, I am only one person.  I am inundated  with people seeking to purchase a kitten.  I do not have enough time in the day to get back to everyone.  Because of this, I have a kitten application form that has all the primary questions that I ask everyone seeking one of my kittens.  I require that you completely fill out and submit the kitten application before I can talk with you about my current kittens or future planned litters.  

If your application is approved and you purchase a kitten from me, you will have the highest priority.  I much prefer selling my kittens to families whom I have sold to before.  Repeat buyers are given a $250 discount on any future kittens they purchase. 

Our babies are provided the best start in life.  We start with genetics, our parent cats are carefully selected from the top bloodlines worldwide.  We focus on sweet expressions, rare colors and overall beautiful appearance.  Temperament is our highest priority, our Kings and Queens must have naturally confidant, gentle temperaments and be exceptionally loving and very people-oriented.  Health is also our priority, our cats are DNA tested for over 40 genetic diseases, including HCM, PKD and PRA.

Moms are provided superior nutrition with prenatal supplements during pregnancy and nursing so the babies have everything they need to meet and exceed their developmental milestones.

Our babies are handled since birth.  Starting at 3 days old we use Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS).  Multiple studies show that puppies and kittens raised with ENS have stronger immune systems and are much more confident and calm when introduced to new experiences in life, including travel, new places and meeting new people and pets like other cats and dogs.  ENS is widely used in service and therapy dog breeding programs.  ENS puppies make the best therapy dogs, period.  Yet, we’re amazed how almost no other cat breeders use ENS with their kittens.

All these things combined makes our kittens VERY precocious.  They develop faster, learn to use the litterbox earlier and become acclimated to new things much more quickly.
